Men try to steal WA security camera that catches them in the act

Two men have been filmed trying to steal a video camera that captured them in the act.

The footage shows one man scaling an antenna at heights of up to 35-metres with no harness as he tampers with infrastructure from a not-for-profit organisation in Red Hill, east of Perth.

The organisation, WAFreeNet, provides a free Wi-Fi service that allows locals to access games and share files.

But the organisation's attempts to connect the community have been hindered by thieves looting their infrastructure – a disturbing trend that has been ongoing for 10 years, costing the group about $12,000 in lost equipment.
